The Pro-Am class victory at Sebring International Raceway came down to a last-lap battle between race leader Justin Rothberg and the hard-charging Philip Ellis. Ellis, who had mounted a massive charge in the closing laps in his No. 91 Mercedes, was closing in on Rothberg and attempted to make the pass on the final lap, but to no avail. The No. 29 BMW driver was able to successfully defend against Ellis and went on to claim the GT World Challenge America victory for Race 2 of the weekend.
